Dunston and District

Often referred to as the ‘Playgroup’, we are a small number of members who meet together on one morning a month, in pleasant surroundings, to read a play together. We each take the part of one of the cast and, in some plays, more than one. This could become confusing, but it never does.

We began by reading simple one-act plays. Though short, they often had an enjoyable plot and could also be quite funny. Recently we have read some longer, more substantial plays which we have also greatly enjoyed.

We do not need, or have, finely-tuned acting skills, though occasionally, we will give a fair stab at an accent, if one is required.

We are a small group but would greatly welcome more members, including of the male variety. We have a relaxed, enjoyable couple of hours together and would love to share it with you.

We will meet on the fourth Thursday of each month at 11am in Ravensworth Road Methodist Church.
